1984 SYIH debut on WCSB 89.3FM Cleveland, Ohio USA in April. The show ran weekly from 1am until 6am Thursday mornings. Originally playing bands like Slayer, Metallica, Megadeth and even Grim Reaper (hey, that's where I got the name for the show!), by the end of 1984 it was becoming even more underground and extreme.
1985 A battle with the Moral Majority of Cleveland began. A "traveling salesman" who called the show just about every week to try and convert me to christianity eventually mobilized the religious right in Cleveland and they started a campaign to get this show off the air.

Interestingly enough, the head of this chapter, Reverend Roy Thompson - a man who so desperately wanted me off the air that he began a letter writing campaign to the Ohio Governor, was also the man who performed my parents' wedding ceremony. In some small way, you could say he was partially responsible for my existence - and here I was playing music where "they worship Satan, curse God and have songs filled with obscenities and vulgarities". Ooopsie!

A compromise was made with the staff of the station, and I changed the name of the show to Tales of Terror
.

1986

The show was becoming more extreme, both musically and with my antics on the air. I had begun to take long conference calls on the air, filled with many of the scene's musicians and writers. I was playing demos on the air that were barely fit to be listened to, the quality was so poor. But it was bleeding edge, the face of metal as it was evolving.

In April of 1986, I decided to do an on the air interview with Fetus Fucker of Intense Mutilation. This was the last regular edition of SYIH/TOT for many years. I was kicked off the air for obscenity violations. I was told I could return in June of this year, however, by then I was already going back and forth to New York, and August I moved there permanently. I married the guy who got me kicked off the air, and that lasted until 1998.

April 1986 - 2001 The show was on hiatus. I was off living a very boring life during most of this time, despite being just outside of NYC, having many friends in the business there and a husband who was also involved. It is a long story, let's just leave it at that.
2001 - 2002

After moving back to Cleveland in 1998, I finally decided to return to Cleveland State University in 2000. Of course, going back to the University also found me getting involved with WCSB once again, and I applied for reinstatement of my membership in 2000. In 2001, I began to appear on my friend Bob's show quite often, and finally was able to begin with See you in Hell in its own timeslot on Saturday nights from 9 till 11 (later, 10 till midnight).

Just as I was getting things going with the radio show again, the call to move elsewhere struck, and I packed my bags and moved to Switzerland on Thanksgiving day 2002. The last regular installment of SYIH was on the 23rd of November 2002.

From time to time, you may hear me on the air here in Zurich (and online with their livestream) on Radio LoRa One of these days, when I find the time, I will be scanning some of my old articles, playlists, flyers, etc. and getting them online. I will also be putting up mp3s of interviews, shows, etc. from the early days of SYIH.
